In this article, we will delve into the world of Purell, its benefits, uses, and where to find it, with a particular focus on CVS, a leading retail pharmacy chain.

Understanding Purell Hand Sanitizer

Purell is an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that was first introduced in 1988. It is designed to kill 99.9% of common germs and viruses, including influenza, the common cold, and even some bacteria that cause food poisoning. The key active ingredient in Purell is ethyl alcohol, which is effective in eliminating germs on contact. It also contains other ingredients like water, isopropyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, and glycerin to enhance its effectiveness and moisturizing properties.

Why Use Purell Hand Sanitizer?

Using Purell hand sanitizer offers several benefits. Firstly, it provides a convenient and quick way to clean your hands when soap and water are not available. It's an ideal solution for on-the-go use, such as when you're traveling, at work, or in public places. Secondly, Purell is effective in killing a wide range of germs, providing an additional layer of protection against illnesses. Lastly, Purell is available in various forms, including gels, wipes, and sprays, catering to different user preferences.

How to Use Purell Hand Sanitizer Effectively

To ensure the effectiveness of Purell hand sanitizer, it's crucial to use it correctly. Here's a simple guide on how to use Purell:

1. Apply the recommended amount of Purell to the palm of one hand (about the size of a dime).
2. Rub your hands together, covering all surfaces of your hands and fingers, until your hands are dry.
3. Ensure you use enough Purell to cover all surfaces of your hands. Using too little can reduce its effectiveness.

Purell Hand Sanitizer and COVID-19

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of hand sanitizers like Purell has become more crucial than ever. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends using alcohol-based hand sanitizers containing at least 60% alcohol to kill the virus that causes COVID-19. Purell hand sanitizer, with its 70% alcohol content, is effective in killing the virus on contact.

However, it's essential to note that while hand sanitizers are effective in killing germs, they are not a substitute for proper handwashing with soap and water. The CDC recommends washing your hands with soap and water whenever possible, especially when they are visibly dirty or greasy. Hand sanitizers are best used when soap and water are not available.

Choosing the Right Purell Product for You

With the wide range of Purell products available at CVS, choosing the right one can be overwhelming. Here are some tips to help you make an informed decision:

• Consider your needs: If you're looking for a portable option, a travel-sized gel or a pack of wipes might be the best choice. For home or office use, a larger bottle of gel or a canister of wipes would be more suitable.
• Think about your preferences: If you prefer a mess-free option, a Purell spray or foam might be more appealing. If you're looking for a moisturizing option, consider a moisturizing gel or a bottle that comes with a moisturizing lotion.
• Check the alcohol content: While all Purell products are effective in killing germs, some may have a higher alcohol content than others. If you're looking for the most effective option, consider a product with a higher alcohol content.

In conclusion, Purell hand sanitizer is a versatile and effective product that offers a convenient way to maintain personal hygiene and prevent the spread of germs. With a wide range of products available at CVS, you're sure to find a Purell product that suits your needs. Always remember to use Purell correctly and follow the guidelines provided by the CDC for the most effective use.
